The following article was taken from the publication made 50 years ago, and I have usefully placed it here, as it adds very much to the other dedicated summaries presented within the Southern Astronomical Delights Website of the general history of Sydney Observatory. This will complete the whole story and its slow progress of the main observational programmes that were conducted at Sydney Observatory. In time, I do hope to write the completion of the story of Sydney Observatory, up to the current day.
